Who are we looking for?:
Sonardyne is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead our growth initiatives in the North American region. This role is pivotal in driving market expansion, building customer relationships, and positioning Sonardyne as a leader in ocean science and marine robotic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Growth & Strategy:
- Expand Sonardyne’s market share in North America through business development, sales, and marketing strategies.
- Identify and develop new market opportunities, ensuring alignment with Sonardyne’s 5-year framework objectives and annual targets.
- Manage key accounts and coordinate direct sales activities, supporting agents and resellers with tools to maximize success.
- Establish MSAs, DPAs, partnership agreements, and explore funding/investment opportunities.
- Brand Promotion & Networking:
- Enhance Sonardyne’s profile in the USA through active networking, trade body participation, conference presentations, and innovative marketing initiatives.
- Product Launches & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business development and engineering teams to roadmap and deliver new product launches.
- Support the creation and execution of annual sales forecasts.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Report commercial performance, including market initiatives, product developments, and overall achievements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Customer Satisfaction:
- Refine business processes to ensure maximum customer fulfillment and provide post-delivery support.
- Foster team spirit, motivation, and collaboration among all staff engaged in delivering Sonardyne’s goals.
- Tender Support:
- Assist with the creation, submission, and follow-up of tenders to secure opportunities and drive sales.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential:
- Over 5 years of experience in ocean science, marine robotics, or a related industry.
- Proven success in business development and sales growth.
- Experience working with agents and resellers across diverse geographies.
- Ability to manage multiple diverse opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong technical understanding of marine systems and related equipment.
- Collaborative, proactive, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
- Capable of launching and sustaining successful commercial campaigns.
Desirable:
- Established network within the US ocean science or marine robotics community.
- Experience expanding international agent and reseller networks.
- Familiarity with Sonardyne equipment and operational processes.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Degree-level education or equivalent business experience.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or certifications in related fields.
