USBL and LBL
Our Ultra- Short BaseLine (USBL), Gyro USBL and LUSBL products can be paired with your choice of transponder to equip you for any subsea task or mission. As well as positioning, many combinations of transceivers and transponders enable communications too. See below for a summary of our positioning products and systems.
Ranger 2 USBL family
Whether you’re operating far offshore or just off the coast, our family of Ultra- Short BaseLine (USBL) acoustic tracking systems, Micro-Ranger 2, Mini-Ranger 2 and Ranger 2, provide you with the capability to know exactly where multiple underwater targets are relative to your vessel’s position.
Micro and Mini-Ranger 2 have operating ranges of 995 m (extendable to 4,000 m on the Mini) and are ideal for temporary or permanent installation on AUVs and smaller vessels. Ranger 2 can track targets to beyond 7,000 m and has the added capability of providing position reference data for vessels equipped with dynamic positioning systems.
Gyro USBL
Our second-generation Gyro USBL transceiver is lighter, smaller and just as capable as its predecessor. It works seamlessly with Ranger 2 to track the position of your subsea target from a USV, vessel of opportunity or from a pipelay vessel’s stinger over extreme ranges. Gyro USBL delivers you the highest precision available and is now pre-calibrated direct from us, saving you precious operational time.
Marksman LUSBL
Marksman is your acoustic DP reference, underwater tracking and telemetry system developed for you to meet the requirements of vessels undertaking your critical station keeping activities such as drill ships, FPSOs and heavy lift vessels.
Transition Zone Transceiver (TZT)
TZT is your vessel-based acoustic transceiver that’s used as part of your Transition Zone / Ocean Bottom Cable (TZ/OBC) acoustic positioning system. Pair it with TZ/OBC or SST 6 transponders for all your deep sea positioning operations.
Micro-Ranger 2 USBL transceiver
Lightweight, portable and easy-to-use, Micro-Ranger Transceiver (MRT) forms part of our Micro-Ranger 2 USBL system developed so you can confidently track divers and small underwater drones in lakes, rivers and coastal waters.
Nano
USBL transponder (Second generation). Think our transponders are too big to fit your micro ROV, AUV or diver? You might need to think again. Meet Nano, our smallest ever family of 6G-enabled positioning transponders.
AvTrak 6
Equipping your AUV with AvTrak6 enables you to track its position and communicate with this valuable asset throughout its mission. It’s used in conjunction with a vessel-based Mini-Ranger 2 or Ranger 2 USBL and is available in three different sizes to suit large and small and large vehicles, including man-portable variants. If your vehicle develops a fault, you can also use AvTrak 6 to locate it.
WSM 6+
Small, rugged, versatile. WSM 6+ is your transponder for tracking a mobile underwater target such as a towfish, crane wire, ROV and manned submersible. 2-way wideband signals ensure you have reliable acoustic performance in all conditions. Available in two depth ratings – 1000 or 4000m – and, of course, it works with Ranger 2 USBL.
WMT 6
WMT 6 is your high power USBL positioning and telemetry transponder used with Ranger 2 USBL for tracking and communication tasks. You can deploy it with your ROVs, AUVs and towfish applications where its high acoustic output power level means it’s perfect for long-range operation up to 7,000 m.
Marker 6
Marker 6 is your low-cost, Ranger 2 USBL compatible acoustic positioning transponder designed for simple target marking applications in water depths up to 7,000 m.
HPT 2000 / 3000 / 5000 / 7000
USBL tracking and communications transceivers. Designed for use as part of a Mini-Ranger 2 or Ranger 2 system, HPT transceivers are your calibration-free USBL transceivers designed for tracking underwater vehicles, divers and equipment to a range of depths and in different subsea environments.
TZ transponder
Acoustic positioning transponder. Designed to work with our transition zone acoustic positioning system, the seismic positioning beacon enables the positions of seismic hydrophone positions to be accurately and efficiently determined.
Small Seismic Transponder 6 (SST 6)
SST 6 is a small, rugged transponder for acoustic positioning of ocean bottom seismic cables and nodes, where high performance, small size, low cost and ease of programming are all important operational factors.
Fusion 2
With Fusion 2, gone is the need to operate two independent software and hardware systems to control your 6G LBL and SPRINT INS. Fusion 2 does it all in a single interface, designed from the ground up with intuitive workflows so there’s less to learn. It also means reduced set-up time, reduced interfacing and reduced onboard hardware.
It’s our most powerful, most configurable and most efficient navigation and positioning software ever. One system from which you can control all of your subsea Long BaseLine (LBL), Sparse LBL and SPRINT Inertial Navigation System (INS) projects.
