About the Role:
As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing innovative mechanical assemblies and early concept designs for external proposals and internal requirements. You will work collaboratively with a talented team of engineers to drive technological advancements across our product range.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new concepts and technologies to expand the company’s business opportunities.
- Work closely with customers, engineering, and production teams to meet design specifications and ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and assess their integration into company products.
- Utilize your expertise in manufacturing, materials, and economic design principles to optimize costs and efficiency.
- Conduct design validation using hand calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), and experimental testing.
- Produce and manage detailed mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor, including build instructions and assembly methods.
- Maintain responsibility for nominated products throughout their lifecycle, including modifications, variant creation, and obsolescence management.
- Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and documentation management.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety policies and company standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- 10+ years of experience in electro-mechanical design, ideally within subsea equipment for Oil & Gas or Defence industries.
- Strong technical design expertise, including practical mechanical engineering skills and prototype assembly/testing experience.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Autodesk Inventor).
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations for the subsea product sector.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, innovative mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable:
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), preferably using ANSYS.
- Strong technical report writing skills.
- Relevant experience in design validation by hand calculations.
