From the Mariana Trench, the deepest point on earth, to surging shorelines and anywhere in-between, we make the impossible possible through our continuous passion for innovation.

Our people design, engineer and manufacture technologies that are enabling our customers to discover, navigate, measure, detect and communicate in the toughest environment on earth: Our oceans. We’ve been actively developing the technology to make the oceans accessible for nearly 50 years and we’re only just getting started…

Are you passionate about cutting-edge subsea navigation technology? Do you have expertise in acoustics, signal processing, and software development? Join our Hybrid Navigation team and play a key role in developing and optimizing acoustic sensors for underwater navigation, with a focus on our Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) products.

About the Role

As an Acoustic Sensor Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation, helping to push the boundaries of underwater sensing and positioning. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Design and develop underwater velocity sensors (DVLs, CVLs, EM Logs).
  • Develop and refine signal processing algorithms for high-accuracy navigation.
  • Implement algorithms into well-structured, robust software.
  • Test and validate performance through simulation and real-world experimentation.
  • Collaborate with experts in transducer design, mechanical and electronic engineering, software development, and application engineering.
  • Work on cross-functional projects, aligning developments across other product lines such as ADCPs.
  • Optimize sensors for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to enhance their use in marine robotics applications.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on cutting-edge subsea navigation technology.
  • Contribute to the future of marine robotics and autonomous vehicles.
  • Be part of an innovative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Make an impact by expanding Sonardyne’s navigation systems into new markets and applications.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in:

  • Acoustics & signal processing
  • Software development (for embedded or navigation systems)
  • Subsea or marine sensor technology (preferred)

If you’re excited by the challenge of developing world-leading underwater sensing and positioning solutions, we want to hear from you!

Apply now and be part of shaping the future of subsea navigation.
