We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Apprentice to join our workshop team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, learning and understanding workshop repair processes, procedures, and the day-to-day operations of a technical repair facility.
You will gain exposure to both the administrative and technical aspects of workshop operations while developing a wide range of skills that will serve as a strong foundation for your career in electronics and repair services.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of the Workshop Coordinator to support workshop operations.
- Learn and understand administrative processes related to the workshop.
- Carry out assembly, testing, adjustment, and repair of Sonardyne products, including PCB boards, chassis, and final assemblies.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs, utilizing various testing tools such as oscilloscopes, SVMs, power supplies, and time counters.
- Develop knowledge of the ERP system to perform workshop activities.
- Promote good working practices and maintain accurate records.
- Understand and observe health and safety policies, including the use of PPE and participation in safety training.
- Read and interpret technical documents, including engineering drawings, circuit diagrams, and assembly instructions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
- Experience working in a workshop or warehouse environment
- Hands-on experience in repair, service, and calibration work
- Ability to diagnose faults down to the component level
- Mechanically proficient, with experience disassembling and reassembling products
- Advanced written and spoken English
- Familiarity with technical documents like circuit diagrams and assembly drawings
Desirable:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience using testing tools (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
Qualifications
Essential:
- Studying for or holding an ONC/OND qualification in Electronics or a related field
- Hands-on experience in an electronics discipline
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications in electronics or related technical fields
